Our production process

Handmade

Our snacks are 100% handmade (eg. truffles) or partially handmade (eg. chocolate bars) in a non-industrial environment.

The only machines we use in our production process are mixers for mixing the chocolate and ovens for drying the cookies (always below 42°C)

Zero waste & recyclable packaging

We care about the environment, so our snacks are produced in a zero waste kitchen and sent to you in recyclable packaging.

Zero cheap fillers or dodgy industrial ingredients

Many companies, even in the health food sector, build their products from with cheap base ingredients like dates or pre-made mixtures that require no in-house processing— all simply to keep costs down while keeping margins high, without thinking of the flavour.

At My Raw Joy, we have the opposite approach- we use the best quality and most expensive ingredients to create the best product possible. 

Our ingredients

RAW CACAO 

RAW ORGANIC CACAO 

Our cacao beans, powder and butter are of the highest quality on the market and sourced only from fair trade agriculture.

In our products we only use natural minimally processed materials. This is the only way to preserve all the valuable nutrients of the raw cacao.

We do not use soya lecithin or artificial additives, choosing instead to replace the former with raw cocoa butter. This ensures that our chocolate products are non-GMO and stand out for their delicious flavour. 

Raw cacao products we use such as cacao beans, powder and butter are full of the antioxidants and minerals. They contain substances that  induce the production of the happiness hormone, serotonin.

Our chocolate products will make you happy in a literal meaning of this word! 

FAIR TRADE PRODUCTION

Fair trade chocolate production is an important source of income for smallholders.

The cooperatives our cacao provider supports invest these funds into community projects in areas such as education and health or in the improvement of agricultural infrastructure.

Our entire production chain is free from child labour.

CACAO ORIGIN

The cacao in our organic and fair trade chocolate products comes from the Peru, Panama and Dominican Republic.

ACTIVATED NUTS

FRESHLY HARVESTED BIO CERTIFIED NUTS

Nuts are the main ingredient in the majority of our snacks.

For this reason we chose only the highest quality minimally processed nuts that come from bio certified farms AND WE ACTIVATE THEM.

Our cashews, almonds, hazelnuts, pecan nuts and pistachios are rich in proteins and contain important aminoacids crucial for our well being.

NUTS ACTIVATION PROCESS

Nuts that you buy are either raw or roasted. We buy our nuts raw and activate them ourselves. By soaking them in water, we bring them back to life and then dehydrate them at low temperatures. This process makes them tastier and easier to digest.

It is a process possible to replicate at home, although it can be time and space consuming, so in our offer you can finds nuts already activated for your convenience.

All of our snacks contain ONLY activated nuts. Next to them being the highest quality fresh ingredients, this is the main secret of their exquisite taste, while remaining raw and nutritious.

BENEFITS OF EATING ACTIVATED NUTS

When nuts are soaked, it brings them back to life and they can begin sprouting! All the conditions must be ‘just so’ for a nut to sprout and germinate. If it sprouts too early, the conditions will not be right and the nut will die. In order to prevent premature germination, nuts contain natural chemicals, including enzyme inhibitors and phytic acid, both of which are toxic to humans in high doses.

Enzyme inhibitors in nuts can interfere and inhibit our own digestive enzymes.

This means we are not able to absorb the beneficial nutrients the nuts have to offer. Phytic acid can overwhelm our digestive system leading us to feel unwell and bloated after eating nuts.

Soaking nuts makes them easier to digest and therefore alleviate a lot of the negative symptoms associated with nuts and nut butters.

NATURAL RAW INGREDIENTS ONLY (GMO-FREE)

We only use natural raw ingredients in our products. We select them carefully from the exclusive list of suppliers.

Quality is our main focus, because the highest quality ingredients mean the highest quality products!

We don't use any food additives like lecitihines, aromas or colourings.

Our expertise lies in understanding how the raw materials work together and we use their natural properties.

Our production is 100 % GMO-free.

Ingredients quality control

Every ingredient we receive is approved in our quality department or sent to the labs to test if the parameters meet our quality standards. The labs perform a detailed chemical analysis to ensure that each ingredient is freshly harvested, does not contain any harmful substances and is of the highest quality. Our products are regularly tested in microbiology.

ZERO REFINED SUGAR

We don't use refined cane sugar.

Our snacks are sweetened with coconut sugar, agave syrup or maple syrup. All of these natural sweeteners have low glycemic index, so they don't cause sugar rush and don't contribute to development of diabetes.

We don't allow any industrial processing in our coconut sugar production - it is unrefined and dried slowly in the sun.
